We have recently partnered with Tiger’s Trust, an independent charity linked to Hull City Football Club in a mission to encourage more girls to take part in football across the city.
The funding of £2,500 will be used to arrange a girls only football festival (the first of its kind arranged by the trust) later this summer. According to Women In Sport 24% fewer girls than boys in England are playing team sport which means 930,000 girls are missing out nationally, showing there is a real need for more girls only sporting events like these.
Emily Falkingham, Co-founder and Performance Marketing Director at Green Ginger Digital, said:
“The aim of this partnership is one that is very close to my heart, having a young daughter myself who is passionate about football I’ve seen first hand the positive difference it can make to a young girls confidence, wellbeing & social skills.
Every child should have the opportunity to experience those benefits, regardless of their circumstances. Tiger’s Trust does incredible work across our community, and we’re proud to support an initiative that will help even more girls discover a love for football.”
Richard Dexter, Head of Business and Operations at Tiger’s Trust, said:
“We’re over the moon to be partnering with Green Ginger Digital. Their commitment through a Silver Level partnership isn’t just a financial investment, it’s a belief in the work that we deliver across the region. Thanks to their support, we’ll be able to create brand new football opportunities for women and girls across our community, helping more young people access the game and thrive both on and off the pitch.”
The girls only football festival is due to happen later this summer, providing girls from across Hull with the opportunity to take part in football in an inclusive, welcoming environment while removing barriers to participation.
