It’s now been six full months at Green Ginger Digital – I can’t believe how fast it’s gone! But also, just how much I’ve grown along the way.
Learning the ins-and-outs of digital marketing has been difficult, but massively rewarding. I’m over a quarter of the way through my apprenticeship and that feels so weird to say. I wouldn’t be as far as I am without my team. Everyone at Green Ginger is there whenever I need help, no matter how big or small the task.
I was always the quiet kid in the class when I was at school. I’d never put my hand up in fear of getting the question wrong. It was mainly a fear of being laughed at because I couldn’t answer the question. Unfortunately, I haven’t chosen the best career to hide that fear, I’ve chosen a career that requires communication with my clients and team daily. The constant reminder from my team that it’s okay to get something wrong has helped me to get over that fear. The most important thing is to keep learning and growing my skillset.
So, what are my biggest wins in the last six months?
- Passed 1 x Google Fundamentals exam
- Checked 19 feeds each day in the Google Merchant Centre
- Monitored Facebook ads for 1 x fashion client creating new ads throughout the week
- Learnt to report and optimise 1 x small Google Ads account
- Made 2 x terrible cups of coffee (haven’t been asked again since)
This is my first 9-5 office job, I thought it would be difficult stepping up from college and a part-time job into working full time, but it’s been such a simple change in lifestyle. I was concerned it would be a quiet, strict environment. But it’s the complete opposite, with every day being so different it’s a refreshing change. It’s always been important to me that I find a career I love. And I’ve found that already. I feel quite smug for a 19-year-old. The opportunity I have here is amazing. I get to learn as I go, I will finish my apprenticeship with two years of experience and two Level 3 qualifications. As I’ve told Emily and Nick before… I have a pretty sweet gig here.
I’m very excited to see where I am in a few months’ time. I’m hoping my confidence and knowledge will have come on in leaps and bounds
