No Longer the Newbies: Nina & Nathan Are Here to Stay

Roughly a 4 minutes, 27 seconds read

We’re thrilled to share that Nina Delvenne and Nathan Hunter have officially passed their probation periods here at Green Ginger Digital, and what a brilliant few months it’s been watching them grow into their roles.

Nina joined us in October last year as a Junior Paid Media Executive on an apprenticeship, diving into the fast-paced world of PPC, performance marketing and paid social.

Around the same time, Nathan came on board as an SEO Content Executive, bringing a sharp editorial eye and strategic mindset to our organic team. Both have brought energy, ideas and a real appetite to learn from day one – and we couldn’t be prouder of their success and to have them as permanent members of Team GGD.

To mark the occasion, we sat down with them both to hear more about their journeys into digital, what they’ve learnt so far, and their advice for others looking to break into the industry.

Meet Nina, Junior Paid Media Executive

Tell us a little more about your route into your role:Nina Delvenne - Junior Paid Media Executive | Green Ginger Digital, Performance Marketing Agency, Hull

After finishing my A-levels, I wasn’t sure which path to take, and I didn’t feel that university was right for me. So, I took a gap year and went travelling. That’s when I discovered the world of digital marketing and knew I wanted to learn more. I completed a few online marketing courses and earned some certifications, but I quickly realised I learn best by doing.

That led me to an apprenticeship, and I was lucky enough to land a performance marketing apprenticeship at Green Ginger Digital!

What’s your favourite thing about working in digital?

No two days are the same. The performance marketing world is fast-paced and constantly evolving, from new ad formats and platform updates to trends and user behaviours, not to mention the daily changes AI brings. There’s always something new to get stuck into and fresh things to learn, which keeps the role varied and interesting.

And your least favourite?

As exciting as change can be, it can also be challenging. Just when you think you’ve nailed something, it changes again. Adapting quickly is key, but it’s not always easy!

What advice would you give to someone looking to get into digital marketing?

If you enjoy learning and want a job that’s different every day, digital marketing is a great fit. Don’t worry about starting with no experience because we all start somewhere, and there are many routes to entry! I’ve found that apprenticeships are a brilliant way to get stuck in, and there are loads of free online courses to build your knowledge before applying.

What’s been the biggest thing you’ve learnt so far at GGD?

So much!

From running campaigns across Google Ads and Meta to working with clients and making strategic decisions, one of the biggest lessons has been the importance of data-driven decision-making. It’s not just about results; it’s about understanding why something works and how to keep improving and evolving it.

Meet Nathan, SEO Content Executive

Tell us a little more about your route into your role.

Before joining GGD, I worked for two years at a PR agency with ambitious start-ups, global e-commerce brands, and deep-tech innovators. I’ve also worked as a transcriber, content researcher, and had various writing roles, all of which helped me transition into my current role in SEO content. In terms of qualifications, I graduated with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing in 2023. Nathan Hunter - SEO Content Executive at Green Ginger Digital | Performance Marketing Agency, Hull

What’s your favourite thing about working in digital?

I love that I can use my creative brain every day, writing blogs, developing content ideas and tailoring work for different audiences. I’ve always enjoyed crafting newsletters and social posts, too, and love learning new things that help me diversify my approaches and inspire new ideas.

And your least favourite?

Things can move fast, and the stakes and expectations are high. Some weeks, you have a plan… but then something changes, and you have to pivot quickly.

What advice would you give to someone looking to get into a similar career?

Go for it. If you enjoy writing, being creative and seeing real results from the work you deliver, it’s incredibly rewarding.

What’s been the biggest thing you’ve learnt so far at GGD?

SEO has been a big learning curve, especially shifting from writing for myself to writing for the audience and search intent. I’ve also learnt a lot about client communication. Explaining the ‘why’ behind what we’re doing can be daunting at first, but it’s such an important part of the job. Most of all, I’ve learnt to be patient with myself while adjusting to a new role in a completely different world.

We’re so proud of everything Nina and Nathan have achieved already and even more excited about what’s ahead as they continue their careers with us. They’re both fantastic additions to the team, and we’re lucky to have them as part of the GGD crew.

Want to join them?

We’re hiring across several roles right now, so if you’re looking for a fast-paced, collaborative independent agency where you can learn, grow and actually enjoy your work (plus a wide range of perks!), check out our current vacancies here.
