In 2025, Green Ginger Digital turned five.
Rather than marking the milestone with a celebration focused on ourselves, we decided to use the year to give something back to the community that helped give the agency its springboard in the first place.
At the start of the year, we committed to raising £5,000 for five charities over 2025, with causes chosen by the team that reflect issues and organisations that matter locally and personally.
We’re proud to say that the target has now been reached. Here’s a little more about what we’ve been up to this year to do our bit for our local community and the causes we care about.
Mission Christmas: 80 Presents Donated
Mission Christmas supports families across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire who are under real financial pressure, helping ensure children don’t wake up on Christmas morning without a gift.
As part of our 2025 initiative, Green Ginger Digital committed to supporting the appeal to make our contribution bigger than ever.

For every gift donated by our team, family and friends, GGD matched it, doubling our impact.
In total, 80 new, unwrapped presents were donated for children aged 5 to 13. Each gift will go directly to families who need extra support, helping ensure children don’t go without a Christmas present.
Cancer Research UK: £2,000 Raised Through The Big Hike
Our fundraising for Cancer Research UK was centred on participating in The Big Hike, a challenging 13-mile trek through the Peak District.
Members of the Green Ginger Digital team, including Nina, Billy, Natalia, and Emily, hiked to raise money for cancer research, committing to weeks of preparation and training in addition to their day jobs. The route itself is demanding, with sustained climbs, uneven terrain and long stretches that test both physical and mental resilience.

By completing The Big Hike and raising funds for it, we raised £2,000 for Cancer Research UK, contributing directly to research that improves prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for people affected by cancer.
We’re incredibly proud of the team members who took part in the hike and hope we can do something similar in 2026!
Hull Sisters: £500 + 6 Refurbished Laptops
We initially supported Hull Sisters around International Women’s Day by donating £500 to advance their mission to support women in Hull through advocacy, education, and practical assistance.
Hull Sisters works with women who face barriers related to inequality, poverty, and limited access to opportunity, helping them build confidence, independence, and long-term stability.
Alongside the donation, we later provided six refurbished laptops to support access to education, training, and employment opportunities that rely on reliable technology.
As a digital marketing agency, we see firsthand how access to reliable technology can open doors. We’ll continue donating refurbished laptops to organisations like Hull Sisters, helping expand opportunities while reducing waste and supporting more sustainable use of tech.
A representative for Hull Sisters said:
“Support like this has a real, lasting impact on those we support, and we’re grateful to Green Ginger Digital for their donations this year. Access to laptops helps the women we work with build confidence, independence and seize new opportunities. We’re grateful to Green Ginger Digital for thinking practically about what would genuinely make a difference.”
Dove House Hospice: £150 Donated
Dove House Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults with life-limiting illnesses across Hull and East Yorkshire, supporting people to live as well as possible for as long as possible. Their teams work with patients and families not just medically but also practically and emotionally, offering pain and symptom control, nursing care, counselling, family support, and bereavement services.
It was important to us to include Dove House in our five-year giving initiative because this care supports entire families, often over long periods, and largely relies on charitable funding to continue.
Myeloma UK: £250 Donated
Finally, we donated £250 to Myeloma UK to support research and services for people living with myeloma and their families.
Myeloma UK is the only UK charity dedicated exclusively to myeloma, a complex and currently incurable blood cancer. Their work spans funding vital research, improving diagnosis and treatment, and providing clear, practical support to patients and families navigating a life-changing diagnosis.
We chose to support Myeloma UK because the charity plays a critical role in helping people understand their condition, access proper care and live well for as long as possible. Their combination of research, advocacy and hands-on support makes a tangible difference at every stage, from diagnosis through long-term management. Supporting that work felt both necessary and meaningful within our five-year giving initiative.
We’ll be supporting this charity further in 2026.

Green Ginger Digital didn’t reach five years on our own, and we’re fully aware that the agency has grown because of the trust and support of clients, partners and the broader community around us in Hull and East Yorkshire.
Emily Falkingham, Co-founder of Green Ginger Digital, said:
“Five years felt like the right moment to look outward and go even bigger on our CSR initiatives to raise money for causes we care about as a team. We’ve been backed by brilliant people from the start, and this was a practical way to give something back to our local community while involving the whole team.”
Thank you to everyone who got involved, raised funds, donated, and supported these charities throughout the year.
We’re looking forward to increasing our charitable fundraising efforts in 2026 and are already planning team-building events to support our mission.
Keep an eye on our LinkedIn page for updates – there’s a LOT up our sleeves for the year ahead across the agency: brand updates, a new site, new faces, big goals and a whole lot more! 🚀
